The third edition of INNTEC comes to a close with its best turnout ever

PRESS RELEASE

The third edition of INNTEC comes to a close with its best ever turnout and a double-faceted reflection on the impact of new technologies on society and business

The conference attracted 206 attendees and filled the two theatres at Cinemes illa Carlemany, the venue for this year’s event

The third edition of INNTEC, the Conference on Innovation and New Technologies, took place on Tuesday in Escaldes-Engordany, providing a space to reflect on the efforts being made by businesses, institutions and society in general to take on the challenges posed by digitalisation.

This year, over 200 people made the most of the conference’s dual programme, which revolved around two main axes: SocialTopics and TechTopics.

Under the title ‘Adaptation to digital evolution’, ACTinn organised another edition of Andorra’s leading new technologies event. The aim was to help businesses, institutions and the public to find out about various tools and projects based on new technologies through case studies, and to deal with themes that shed light on the impact of these technologies on different industries and businesses, as well as on our everyday lives.

The conference began at 9 in the morning, when the Andorran Minister for the Environment, Agriculture and Sustainability, Sílvia Calvó, led the opening session, in which Helena Pisonero, president of Hispasat, also participated.

Two spaces for two areas of debate and reflection

This year, the conference took place over just one day, but with a dual schedule based around two axes of debate: SocialTopics and TechTopics. These two themes inspired a total of 13 presentations and 2 debates.

The SocialTopics room saw presentations that made the audience reflect on issues like women’s role in the digital revolution and how artificial intelligence can improve and optimise business processes. Meanwhile, the TechTopics room hosted top-quality presenters, including Fernando de la Rosa, who talked about the online training platform Foxize, Alejandro Lorenzo, of Habiteo, the online marketing platform for the real estate industry, and Juan Ignacio Luque, who presented the social app Fresh Snow. The TechTopics schedule ended with a debate around the legal framework that regulates Blockchain technology, a theme to which INNTEC dedicated a whole day last year.

Once again, INNTEC has given attendees the chance to find out what kinds of technological innovation projects are ongoing in Andorra and what tools the country is providing to promote and develop them. Ever since it was created, ACTinn’s main aims have been to become a leader and a source of support for businesses in the innovation and new technologies sector, to generate synergies, and to contribute towards both the development of projects that help to modernise traditional industries and Andorra’s consolidation as a leading country in these fields.
